New funding for migration research from NordForsk
CMI researchers Are John Knudsen and Cathrine Talleraas have been awarded funding from NordForsk under the Joint Nordic-UK research program on Migration and Integration. The new project ‘Effects of Externalisation: EU Migration Management in Africa and the Middle East (EFFEXT)’ has a budget of NOK 16 million and examines how multiple actors in Africa and the Middle East navigate competing global and national priorities on migration management in an EU-centric policy context. The project is carried out in close collaboration with institutional partners in Denmark and the UK: The Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS), Oxford Brookes University, the Centre for Development and Emergency Practice (CENDEP) and the University of Manchester’s Global Development Institute (GDI).
