By focusing on the entertainment and fun among the partisan rank-and-file and their supporters, the paper aims to demonstrate to what extent these communities accepted the value system and behavioral code prescribed through communism-inspired project of gender equality. With the help of three examples – performing classical ballet for the rural audiences, singing and dancing to prove one’s (physical and/or emotional) strength, daydreaming among women in women only spaces – the paper points out that both men and women resisted changing their own conceptions of proper femininity and masculinity and intrusion into their intimate lives.
