What do we do when political finance creates incentives for the powerful to destroy the environment? This workshop at the International Anti-Corruption Conference in Vilnius, Lithuania, examined how running for office in many places is paid for by harming nature, and how this harms people and democracy. We heard of the impacts of this problem, exploring experiences from Peru, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Zambia. We joined with colleagues from political finance and conservation to consider solutions.
