This book is about Somali and Sudanese refugees in Norway. It narrates the story of these two groups in Norway through analysing reasons for their coming to Norway, their connection to the host society, challenges they face, and their homemaking practices. It is an anthropological account on diaspora and transnational subjectivities. They key argument is that instead of looking at refugees through legal and rigid lens and terminologies, it is useful to explore the rich ambiguites in their lives. This way, we will be able to understand their lifeworlds and subjectivities.
