Kristine Helgheim Rauan

Master's Student

A master's student focusing on modern slavery, refugee issues and defence politics.

Kristine Helgheim Rauan is currently interning at CMI’s Development Learning Lab (DLL) in the fall of 2024, as part of her master’s program in "Politics and Governance of Global Challenges" at UiB. This is a political science program that integrates theories of politics and governance with advanced training in social science methods through project-based learning focused on real-world global challenges. It examines the complex, multi-level governance of global and often "wicked" problems such as inequality, climate change, migration, and pandemics.

During the final year of the master’s program, students have the opportunity to undertake an internship before writing their thesis. Kristine is therefore now part of the DLL research group at CMI, which focuses on research-based knowledge to enhance learning and improve the outcomes of development programs.

Her bachelor’s degree focused on modern slavery in EU countries, and she has an interest in research areas such as development, refugee issues, and defense politics.
