CMI: Partner in Two New Centres of Excellence
The Research Council of Norway has granted 13 research groups status as Norwegian Centres of Excellence (SFF centres) starting in 2013. The new centres will receive a total of more than NOK 2 billion over a ten-year period to produce world-class research.
The Legitimate Roles of the Judiciary in the Global Order is a new Centre of Excellence at the University of Oslo. The Centre will analyse and assess the legitimacy of this emerging global judiciary in the international and national domestic order. What are the factors that can ensure the authority of the international courts? Senior researcher at CMI Siri Gloppen is part of this research group. Professor Andreas Føllesdal is project manager.
Centre for Intervention Science in Maternal and Child health is a new Centre of Excellence at the University of Bergen. The centre will help to improve maternal and child health by studying the effectiveness of health measures in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. CMI Director Ottar Mæstad and Associated Senior Researcher and Director of the Board of Chr. Michelsen Fund and Nationalgaven til Christian Michelsen, Bertil Tungodden are members of this research group. Professor Halvor Sommerfelt is project manager.
