TemPro researchers Esra Kaytaz and Jessica Schultz co-organised a hybrid roundtable in Coventry together with the Coventry City Council and Centre for Peace and Security at Coventry University titled: ‘Managing the Local Impacts of UK Policymaking on Asylum & Humanitarian Protection: Beyond Challenges to Solutions’. There were over 40 representatives from local authorities, charities and academics from Scotland, England and Wales to discuss the impacts of national asylum policies and the humanitarian protection schemes on local authorities across the UK.  Temporary protection and differentiated rights have been hallmarks of the 'bespoke' schemes introduced for different national groups in the UK. How does this diversity of protection regimes affect frontline workers when it comes to providing access to housing, employment and essential services?
