Market access for LDCs

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs have requested Chr. Michelsens Institute and Foundation for Research in Economics and Business Administration to evaluate recent proposals about deepening and extending trade preferences to LDCs. The study should have a LDC perspective and shall analyse the economic consequences of duty-free and quota free access for LDCs in EU/Japan/US and Canada (QUAD). A particular emphasis should be put on the design of safeguards, the binding of commitments and the rules of origin which are applied by the recent initiatives.
