Timeframe: Jan 2005 - May 2005
Funder: Norwegian embassy, Harare
The project seeks to analyse the current status of regional co-operation in Southern Africa, the restructuring of SADC and the emerging regional priorities and policies for deepening integration. The report takes a special look at SADC's Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan and Strategic Indicative Plan for the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Co-operation. The final part of the report provides an identification and analysis of options for external and Norwegian support to SADC and regional cooperation. The study was commissioned by the Norwegian Embassy in Harare as an input to the preparation for SADC's 2005 Consultative conference.
