Chia Se Poverty Alleviation Programme - Vietnam/Sida
This 6 year Sida-funded programme develops an approach for supporting local level activities in the poorest communes in 6 districts (in three provinces - Ha Giang, Yen Bai and Quang Tri) in Vietnam, through participatory planning and the setting up of local development funds. In addition to the three provincial projects there is a national project aiming at strengthenig pro-poor policy development. This project is managed by Ministry of Plan Implementation. The Swedish company ORGUT won the contract for TA support, with CMI and others as partners. The role of CMI is to assist the national project in review of programme experiences with particular reference to planning and governance aspects. Resources to this effect have been set aside on an annual basis.
