China and Africa - Conference in Beijing in September 2014
On September 10 and 11 2014 The Center for Global Media & Communication Studies (CGMC) at the Institute for Journalism and Communication at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) in Beijing together with Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI) in Bergen in Norway will organise a conference on China and Africa - Media, Communications and Public Diplomacy.
The conference is part of the research project “The Voice of China in Africa – Media and Soft Power”, which is a cooperative project involving CMI in Bergen in Norway, CGMC in China, Instituto de Estudos Socias e Economicos (IESE) in Maputo, Mozambique, and Makerere University in Uganda.
The conference brings together researchers, media practitionaries and officials from China, Africa and Norway. It is organised with financial support from the Norwegian Embassy in Beijing.
