Women in politics in Southern Africa

The manuscript for this book is a comparative study of the role and the status of women in national politics in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. In order to understand the dynamics of the successes and failures of women to enter the political decision-making arena, a historical perspective will be taken, which will go back to the events surrounding independece in all five countries.
