    CMI's Elling N. Tjønneland was commissioned by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to lead a review of a major Danish-funded research programme on peace and security in Southern Africa. The programme is run by the Harare-based SAPES institute and the present project phase ends in 2002. Tjønneland is an advisor on several projects on peace and conflict management in Southern Africa.
