The purpose of this study is to contribute towards, and to advance, the process of policy change in Uganda with respect to local government taxation. In pursuit of this purpose the study intends to be complementary to existing initiatives and processes going on in fiscal decentralisation and local government finance, rather than repeating or duplicating such work.
The project is managed by the Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC), Makerere University, and involves researchers from Uganda (EPRC), United Kingdom (University of East Anglia, Norwich) and Norway (Chr. Michelsen Institute).
