Benefits Streams Management in African Countries: Tsumeb and Selebi Phikwe Copper Nickel Mines

Jan Isaksen is engaged in this project that deals with the management of benefit streams from natural resources in African developing countries. The ultimate aim is, with other institutions to create a world bank funded university level course in "Benefit Streams Management". The present stage of the project aims at preparing case studies that can be used in such courses. The present stage of the project which is implemented in collaboration with two of CMIs Southern African Cooperation partners (BIDPA and NEPRU) aim at producing: - research reports and other documentation on the two topics identified above (benefits streams and institutional structures) for the Selebi Phikwe mine - ideas and sketches of possible training courses, including pedagogic materials; - a seminar or workshop to present findings of the research and to determine courses for further study and action.
