What role for SADC(C) in the post-apartheid era?

This chapter considers the role of SADC(C) in fostering regional integration in Southern Africa after the demise of apartheid. It argues that the formalisation of the organisation into a better organised Southern African Development Community' augurs well for the future but warns that the wide regional disparities pose formidable challenges.
