Southern African-Norwegian Research Programme on the Southern African Development Community (SADC)

The Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis (BIDPA) and CMI are planning a research programme with its regional research partners intended to assist SADC in enhancing its efficiency in the advancement of co-operation and integration in Southern Africa. The approach used will be a formative process research, which may comprise monitoring of SADC's institutions and ongoing policy implementation, as well as research on key policy areas, combined with capacity building efforts. The duration of the project is proposed to be 3-4 years. By July 2003 preparations a preparatory seminar had been arranged and a project proposal for the project was prepared. Jan Isaksen is the CMI link person for CMI cooperation with BIDPA.
