Sanitary and phytosanitary standards (SPS) and technical assistance
Timeframe: Jan 2002 - Dec 2002
Funder: NORAD
Sanitary and phytosanitary measures designed to protect human, animal and plant health constitute a significant barrier to exports of agricultural products from developing countries. Sanitary regulations are quite complex, and their requirements are often beyond the means of developing countries. This project analyse how technical assistance to SPS may be effective in improving the export capabilities of poor countries.
